Biography

Job Description: During my time on the road, I primary serve the central Ohio territory visiting high schools and college fairs to support the recruitment of new first-year students. I counsel and correspond with students, families, university departments, or other stakeholders regarding Ohio State admission policies. I oversee our Advisory Board made up of school counselors and CBO representatives from around the country. I also review applications (domestic, international) and makes admissions recommendations through our holistic application review process.

How did the Enterprise Leadership major contribute to your career?

"The Enterprise Leadership degree allowed me to hone the skills from a combination of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and John Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurial Management in the Tippie College of Business. I knew I wanted to work in higher education and my courses allowed me to build a pathway towards working on a college campus and in the admissions landscape. I gained valuable insight in organizational leadership, effective communication, and I continuously utilize those alongside many skills from this program every day."
 

What advice would you give to a student interested in pursuing a job or career field like yours?

"The admissions office at an institution is a great place to start your higher education pathway as it exposes you to all of what the institution has to offer for you and the students. My role allows me the opportunity to travel all over the state, country, and even oversees for recruitment and professional development. Networking is a big component of my work and it's great because of all the people I've had the chance to interact with. You never know who you'll meet or where a connection may take you!"
